What's the happiest day of the year? Undoubtedly, it is the most solemn traditional festival of the Chinese nation, the Spring Festival.
A few days before the Spring Festival, dad took me and my brother and my Cousins to a market for New Year's goods. As we approached, the streets were full of peddlers, pine nuts, melon seeds and walnuts. And my favorite beef jerky. We walked down the street, and there was a coaxing couplets on every shop. The hawker's Shouting, the noise of the customer, the red and red couplets, there is a strong smell everywhere. We shopped at dozens of stores but didn't buy anything. We came to an old name, and the old lady and father were acquaintances. Dad greeted the landlady and began to pick things up. My father first bought my favorite beef jerky and filled it with a full bag. Then he bought a lot of things, melon seeds, pine nuts and walnuts... A big bag is about a few dozen pounds. I struggled with it, and would not let go. Dad took his brother and made his own car. We were satisfied and returned home with joy.
The New Year is coming. I have bought the New Year's goods. I am in the quilt, quietly, I count the New Year's coming.
Usually stay up late and set off fireworks on New Year‘s Eve. By the first day of first lunar month, people are wearing festival dresses and begin to visit or welcome family, friends and loved ones. They greet each other “Happy New Year” and “Happy Spring Festival” and invite guests to drink tea and chat at their home.
There are a plethora (过量)of activities during the Spring Festival including opera and movie performances lion dances and temple fairs. There are also people who prefer to stay at home and watch television. Pasting New Year scrolls and watching festive lanterns are also the traditional movements for the Spring Festival celebration.
The ways of Spring Festival celebration are changing along with the standard of living. For instance, traveling has becoming a new fashion of Spring Festival celebration.
The Spring Festival is the oldest festival in China. It has a history of over two thousand years. This is also my favorite holiday. Nothing can make me feel happier than it is.
This year's new year's Eve, people are finally busy, some fish, some chickens, some sheep. High streets and back lanes have already put on the red festive costumes, red lanterns hung on trees, Chinese node; the door, on the wall, signage pasted greatly ", the antithetical couplet, window, the house dressed like a pretty girl, all over the country, again immersed in the festive.
My family is no exception, early in the morning, the day dawn, grandma started busy cleaning the house, listen to my grandma said, "in addition to the new year's Eve", is intended to remove, and everyone should be in today's cleaning, put all the poortransportation bad luck were all swept out of the house. I hurriedly grabbed the rag in my grandmother's hand, and shred all the furniture and doors and windows in the house. Like the new ones, I was swept clean and prayed for good luck next year.
Eating lunch to prepare for the evening meal, my hometown is Nantong, the evening meal must eat reunion, meaning a round and round. Grandpa happy stuffing, Dad, mom, I rubbed Rice noodles, grandma rubbing together. My mother said, the three of us to a reunion game to see who rub, rub the reunion and fast, the best craft grandma, Mariko and I do all in fine fig, reunion, like the ball, flat, I had to show the white feather, the mother said: "the reunion bag jujube son, who eat this year is the most fortunate people," and she has a date to the reunion, I thought that want to eat a person is me.
Compared with over 100 days' exhausting school life, summer holiday is definitely a golden time for relaxation and entertainment. We can set aside the studies, lock away the textbooks, forget everything about school, and greet the new life with our arms open up. During the two months' loose, we enjoy ourselves thoroughly, sleeping till when the sun is high in the sky, playing computer night and day, watching TV as long as we want to, and traveling around like a tramp. Time rolls by, and it is not until at the end of the holiday that we suddenly find our home assignment remaining blank sheets of paper. Then we go mad, and devote the last days to fulfilling the homework.
The same summer holidays pass year after year, and year after year, we regret when they come to an end. We regret having wasted so much time on recreations, instead of our lessons, and regret having worn away our youth in trifles.
Although it was still the case this summer, I dare say this was the most fruitful holiday I had ever spent. Yes, the summer holiday I enjoyed most is this year's.
At the very beginning of the holiday, our head teacher instructed us to make the most of the summer coming up, and then turn ourselves into bookworms. I took heart on hearing it, and at once mapped out a long list of hundreds of tasks I was going to perform. I was even in higher spirits in the first days of the summer, dreaming that I stuck to the whole schedule and became a super girl the next semester. But my ambition didn't stand the test of time. It was only a few days later that my attention was continually attracted by the Internet, novels, and shopping malls. Time flew surprisingly fast. When the vacation was already over, I realized in astonishment and despair that I had acted on only a half of my plan.
However, I am now consoling myself with the thought that it is human nature to have a rest after a long term's study; hence it is not realistic to keep working hard, even though the horrible Senior 3 was just around the corner. Therefore, I am satisfied. I am satisfied with my daily routine in which I spent an average 9 hours in sleeping, 2 hours in eating, 2 hours in surfing the Internet, 6 hours in doing some trivial things which I couldn't even remember, and the other 5 hours in studying. After all, I have done my possible. What is more, I did have a precious pause between the intense school days, and seized the last chance to relax in my senior life. So, this was a holiday combined with rest and work, wasn't it?
